Heroes Shed No Tears (1986 film)

Heroes Shed No Tears Chinese Cantonese Yale Ying Xiong Wei Lei is a 1986 Hong Kong actionwar film written and directed by John Woo, produced by Peter Chan, and starring Eddy Ko. Released prior to the success of Woos A Better Tomorrow, the film is a story about a group of mercenaries on a mission to extract a drug lord from the Indochina area.

The film exhibits some of John Woos distinguishing marks, though he was reportedly dissatisfied with the end film and decided to shelve the project. However, after the success of A Better Tomorrow, the studio released this title and it gained moderate success under the title Sunset Warrior. OnJuly 2006, Contender Entertainment Group released the film on DVD and it is now out of print. It was rereleased onOctober 2011 by CineAsia on DVD.
